New and improved image.to.design
We just shipped one of the biggest upgrades to image.to.design yet — one that makes converted designs look and feel dramatically closer to the original image. Here’s what’s new in the latest version:
What’s new
image.to.design now does a better job of generating editable designs that are as close to your original source image as possible, thanks to a few key updates:
Reusing original images
image.to.design can now reuse images from the original image you imported; detecting and extracting embedded images from the source automatically. Photos, illustrations, and graphic assets are identified during the conversion process and surfaced as separate, ready-to-use image layers in your Figma file.
Vectorization
image.to.design also now automatically detects when an image is a good candidate for vectorization and converts it accordingly. The result is a clean, editable vector layer instead of an image — no manual tracing required.
Try it out
The new version of image.to.design is now live and available in Figma Community. Give it a try and let us know what you think!
